Blend is on a mission to become the best AI platform on the web, giving you access to every AI model in one place, so you can focus on what matters. We believe AI should be simple. Instead of juggling multiple subscriptions and interfaces, you should have it all in one place.
Blend is developed entirely by one person: Marc Lamy.
The Story
When ChatGPT launched, I was obsessed with it. I've always loved sci-fi, and suddenly, this felt like the future was here. You could just talk to a computer, and it actually understood you. At the time I knew you could take your voice, convert it to text, and take text to convert it to voice, so why not plug ChatGPT in the middle to talk to it? I thought it'd be so cool so I built the first version. It was buggy, slow, the UI was awful, but it was my first app and it was working.
At the time, I was working in Boston on a working visa, grinding through my job by day and coding this app when I got home. As more AI models popped up (ChatGPT, MidJourney, ...), I realized you shouldn't have to jump between apps just to use the latest AI, you should have them all in one place. I kept working on it and shipped the first beta a couple of months later. It was originally called My AI Playground (I know, a bit long) since it was supposed to be a place where you can play with every AI in one spot.
I wanted to work on it every day, but with a job and tough visa rules, this wasn't an option. I decided in June 2025 to drop my visa, leave the US after five years, and come back to my hometown in France to work on it full time.
I don't just want to build a functional app. I want to make something you'll actually love using. Something smooth, beautiful, and effortless. The best tech isn't just useful. It's magic.
